Are you ready to join a team of talented engineers and shape the future of the Nuclear Industry? We are seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Head of Nuclear Ventilation to deliver our current portfolio of work. You will grow our Nuclear Ventilation capability in line with client demand and **new opportunities**, providing business development alongside engineering capability management and governance. You will lead a strong, agile team, with you as the first point of contact for clients, partners and contractors, developing contacts to grow our ventilation engineering business with a demonstrable specialism in this area.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver technical expertise in nuclear ventilation, providing guidance and support to team members
  • Develop a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the nuclear ventilation engineering capability
  • Provide leadership and governance to the nuclear ventilation capability
  • Grow the nuclear capability in line with demand from clients and new opportunities
  • Seek new opportunities from clients for future work
  • Mentor and support early career personnel
  • Lead recruitment for the ventilation team
  • Develop and train the vent capability to ensure a diverse SQEP (Suitably Qualified and Experienced Personnel)
  • Stay abreast of new opportunities arising within the nuclear ventilation sector
  • Support bids as a subject matter expert in the field
  • Collaborate with industry partners to develop a supply chain network

Qualifications

  • Demonstrable experience in leading others and developing team members
  • Demonstrable expertise with a track record of nuclear HVAC systems
  • Demonstrable record of successful delivery, including positions influencing other professional engineers in the definition, implementation and delivery of engineering work packages
  • Ability to provide strategic guidance based on knowledge and experience of projects across a portfolio to inform and direct projects and programmes
  • Ability to provide leadership and undertake business development in a key area within an engineering function, including acting as custodian of resource and expertise
  • As well as established work in nuclear decommissioning and defence, opportunity to contribute to civil nuclear new build programme in the UK
  • UK security clearance requirements may apply
  • Preferred BEng in a relevant discipline
  • Preferred Chartered Member of the relevant institute
  • Demonstrable expertise and an extensive track record in a nuclear ventilation engineering design role at a senior level in the nuclear sector
  • Full UK driving license
