Head of Pre Contract

We’re seeking an experienced head of pre-contract to take ownership of the pre-contract phase of our development programme. This is a pivotal role where you’ll lead a team to ensure projects are set up for success, manage internal approvals, oversee pipelines and collaborate with contractors to bring our developments to life.
This role is permanent and full time. You can be based from either of our main offices in Wolverhampton or Tewkesbury, with regular travel across the midlands.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading and managing multiple development projects in the pre-contract phase, ensuring they meet quality standards, regulatory requirements and deadlines.
- Developing and maintaining a pipeline of upcoming projects, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and resource availability.
- Facilitating internal approvals, preparing detailed proposals, business cases and presenting updates to boards and committees.
- Managing relationships with contractors and external partners, negotiating contracts and ensuring adherence to project specifications.
- Engaging with internal stakeholders to gather requirements, address concerns and ensure alignment with project goals.
- Leading multiple workstreams and providing regular internal reporting on project status, performance metrics and insights.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in pre-contract/project management within housing or construction.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Excellent analytical, organisational and reporting skills.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication, including presentation skills to boards and committees.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance requirements in the housing sector.
- Resilience, tenacity and the ability to perform under pressure.
- Relevant degree or technical qualification in land development, estate management, planning or similar.
- Full UK driving licence and a basic DBS and consumer check.
Closing Date
