The Role
We’re looking for a Head of Product to lead our payments platform, someone who understands global PSPs, FX, and orchestration, and who knows that the real power lies in tying those flows together with intelligence. You’ll define how payments work inside Swap: from PSP fallback logic to refund-safe pricing and merchant settlement.
You’ll work with partners but also know when to build our own edge. This is a 0→1 product, so you’re energised by building high-impact value from the ground up.
What You’ll Do
- Own the end-to-end payments strategy, from routing logic to FX margin control to refund mechanics
- Build Swap’s PSP orchestration layer, working closely with engineering and PSP partners
- Own merchant payout architecture with partners
- Drive product thinking around success rate optimisation, fallback routing, method expansion, and regulatory thresholds
- Ensure our payments flows are built to scale with global tax, duty, and pricing logic embedded
- Define and own payments KPIs
- Hire, lead, and develop a team of PMs and collaborate deeply with design, data, partnerships, and engineering
- 10+ years in product, with deep experience in online payments, FX, and PSP orchestration
- A track record of working with payment providers like Adyen, Stripe, Airwallex, Paypal or others
- Strong understanding of FX markets, settlement models, and refund mechanics
- Experience in multi-PSP or high-transaction environments (e.g. platforms, marketplaces, global D2C)
- Commercial instincts: you see where payments can unlock margin or save millions in avoidable losses
- Comfortable working across compliance, tax, and infra — and simplifying complexity for others
- Bonus if you’ve built any 0→1 products
