Head of Quality & Supply Chain

Location: Edinburgh (Hybrid working)

What is the purpose of the role?

We are seeking a methodical, detail- orientated and forward-thinking Head of Quality and Supply Chain to lead and scale our Quality, Sourcing & Logistics functions. This role is responsible for building a resilient, high-performing operations strategy that ensures on-time, high- quality product delivery and supports a best-in-class customer experience. You will also play a critical role in supporting Artus Air’s mission to design for low carbon through sustainable supply chains. This is a hands-on, cross-functional role that combines day-to-day operational excellence with long-term strategic thinking.

What will I be doing?

Quality Assurance & Control

• Define and enforce quality standards across production and service partners.
• Lead root cause investigations and continuous improvement efforts.
• Ensure all products meet Artus Air’s quality and sustainability goals.
• Manage site-based QA inspections and documentation.
• Respond to post-installation feedback and ensure installations meet quality benchmarks.
• Support team training on QA processes and use issue data to guide procurement and supplier development.

Sourcing & Supply Chain Management

• Develop and manage a sourcing strategy focused on cost, quality, lead time, and sustainability.
• In collaboration with the Technical Director, select and evaluate suppliers based on environmental performance, transparency, and reliability.
• Lead negotiations and maintain global supplier relationships, ensuring delivery of compliant, cost-effective materials.
• Oversee warranty-related sourcing and ensure spare parts are available for aftersales support.
• Review and negotiate supplier contracts to ensure value and performance.
• Maintain lean, responsive inventory systems informed by data, working with the CFO and Sales Director to ensure stock supports shorter lead times and production continuity.

Product Version Supply Strategy

• Lead the supply strategy for phasing out older products and introducing new ones.
• Ensure supply chain resilience to support business continuity and growth.

Logistics & Delivery

• Oversee inventory, warehousing, and customer delivery processes.
• Develop tools and systems to improve fulfilment efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Scale logistics infrastructure to support international markets.

Strategic Operations Planning

• Collaborate with leadership on capacity planning, forecasting, and delivery strategies.
• Help develop and implement the ERP system (Odoo) tailored to a growing hardware business.
• Contribute to long-term operational growth and sustainability goals.

Staff Management

• After a transition period, manage the fulfilment engineering role(s).
• Plan and build a team to deliver in line with Artus Air’s mission and strategic objectives.

What will I need to thrive in the role?

• Significant experience in QA, operations, supply chain, or manufacturing management within a product-based environments

• Demonstrated success in supply chain management

• Strong knowledge of quality control systems

• Experience in supplier auditing

• Strong commercial acumen when negotiating contracts and managing supplier

performance

• A structured, analytical approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement
