About The Role
We have an exciting opportunity to join Fox's Burton's Companies as our Head of Regulatory. You will ensure compliance with food legislation providing support to: Product Marketing and Commercial development, with advice on claims, communications, presentation and advertising; Development and launch of new products and, Product Integrity to increase the Product Compliance byconstantly reducing risk levelson products, processes andnew developments. You'll also translate product specifications into the needed documentation for all FBC UK business lines (Branded, Private Label, etc.) and the leadership of the specification teams.
Main Responsibilities
FOOD LAW
Explore the global/local food law framework, by checking and constantly verifying the best sources available (Trade Associations, Law Firms, Consultancies, Websites, Online services, etc.)
Ensure compliance with local food legislation, also with the contribute of local legal colleagues and/or external consultants/law firms
Collect legal texts, articles, opinions, and other materials on relevant pieces of legislation and legal trends, and secure the knowledge retention within the food law function
FOOD REGULATORY
Define the regulatory strategy for product development (including ethical certifications and sanitary registrations, where needed) in alignment with business requirements
Provide regulatory intelligence and guidance in product development, taking into consideration new regulatory trends and product safety issues
COMPLIANCE
Ensure the product labelling compliance by checking the local legislation, classifying products in accordance to local product standards, listing and understanding all mandatory particulars needed, verifying the legal compliance of the technical documentation and of marketing proposals against local rules
Check the local legislation on claims (health, nutrition, ingredients) and the related conditions of use, taking into consideration also local practices, drive risk assessments considering legal and reputational issues, and provide instructions and recommendations to all relevant functions
PROCESS MANAGEMENT
Participate and contribute to Innovation/Renovation projects by partnering to meet business needs and purposes.
Assess and align compositional and labeling rules, engaging external consultancies/law firms, where needed, and aligning with FBC UK stakeholder in order to be able to provide business-oriented feedback on risks, limits and conditions from food law & food regulatory perspective
PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS
Lead product specification team to ensure that all finished product specifications are accurate, maintained and delivered in a timely manner

Who We Are Looking For
- Proven experience in a Regulatory leadership role
- Experience of implementation of international regulatory practices
- Previous experience in leading a specification team
- Degree qualified in a Food Science, legal or science related discipline
- Relevant qualifications in Food Legislation
- HACCP Level 4
- Food Safety Level 4
