Head of Residential Conveyancing – Swansea Office
Location: Swansea, South Wales
Salary: £55,000 per annum + Performance-Based Bonus
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Hybrid Working: 4 days in office / 1 day WFH
A highly respected, award-winning legal practice with offices across South Wales is seeking an experienced Residential Conveyancing Solicitor / Legal Executive / Licensed Conveyancer to take the lead in launching and growing their conveyancing presence in Swansea.
This is a unique opportunity for a senior-level conveyancer to step into a leadership role, build and run a team from the ground up, and become a key part of the firm’s strategic expansion.
The Role
You will be the lead figure in establishing the firm’s conveyancing offering in Swansea, with autonomy to shape the department’s structure, performance, and culture. Working closely with the Head of Conveyancing and Managing Director, you’ll drive business growth and maintain the firm’s high standards of client service and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a full caseload of residential conveyancing matters, including:
- Freehold and leasehold sales and purchases
- Remortgages, new builds, shared ownership/equity, and transfers of equity
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with local estate agents, brokers, and referral partners
- Identify and pursue business development opportunities to grow the firm’s presence in the region
- Provide mentorship, training, and supervision to junior members of the team
- Contribute to strategic planning and performance improvement initiatives across the wider conveyancing department
Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor, CILEX, or Licensed Conveyancer
- Minimum 4 years’ post-qualification experience in residential conveyancing
- Demonstrated experience managing a conveyancing team or department
- In-depth knowledge of all aspects of residential property law and procedures
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining excellent client service
- Track record of business development or strong local professional network highly desirable

Working Pattern
This role is based in the firm’s Swansea office, with a hybrid working model of 4 days in-office and 1 day remote.
