Job Purpose

To develop and implement a specification sales strategy that incorporates bricks, systems and group PLC solutions such as balconies building on the Brickability LTD complete solutions provider ambition.The Specification Director will take the lead engaging and strengthening relationships with specifiers, contractors and façade consultants.

Hours -830am to 530pm Monday to Friday

Reports to: Group Sales Director (Brick & Building Materials Division)

Key Responsibilities

The main responsibilities are:

Duties and Technical Knowledge

  • Build a strong knowledge base of Group PLC key products to formalise a complete solutions specification range.
  • Work with the marketing team to build a specification hub to be promoted digitally and via social media platforms.
  • Responsible for targeting, engaging and building relationships with specifiers and contractors on a national basis both independently and collaboratively with the sales teams.
  • Provide design support to specifiers, contractors and collaboratively with the sales teams that adds value and service to our customers
  • Take the lead identifying new specification focussed products and building them into our complete solutions provider model that demonstrate an increase in sales activity in the specification sector.
  • Excellent level of technical knowledge in the construction sector, ideally with an architectural technician background
  • Responsible for increasing and enhancing technical knowledge across the sales teams with tailored training and learning sessions embedding a high performance culture
  • Build relationships with targeted universities to formalise an educational programme for Part 3 architectural students to support their knowledge around the design of buildings focussing on brick and cladding materials.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Increasing face to face and digital engagement levels with specifiers and contractors in line with agreed targets reflected in our marketing statistics.
  • Demonstrate usage of planning portal tools and the Glenigan platform to build a project pipeline and tracker that is reported monthly to the Group Sales Director
  • Creation of the Specification Hub of products and solutions and its measured success including increased price expectations.
  • Meeting sales targets set around the specification hub products and solutions
  • Multiple project opportunities and continuous relationship with targeted specifiers, contractors and consultants
