Responsibilities

• Lead all technical aspects of media workflows for Channel 4 News, ensuring seamless, efficient, and high-quality content delivery across broadcast and digital platforms.
• Support both newsroom and digital teams with a focus on enabling frictionless sharing of content across locations and teams.
• Oversee end-to-end processes including ingest, transfer, transcoding, editing, sharing, and distribution to support the newsroom’s fast-paced operational needs and creative ambitions.
• Act as the operational lead for technical workflows within the C4 News business unit, optimising local processes and driving day-to-day delivery excellence.
• Collaborate with editorial, production, and technical teams in London, across national and international bureaux, and on deployments to ensure consistency and high standards wherever C4 News operates.
• Shape operational approaches and contribute to workflow strategy for C4 News, working in close partnership with ITN’s central Technology department.
• Help shape technology strategy, guide the selection and configuration of tools and systems, and ensure operational needs are fully supported and aligned with ITN’s broader technical vision.
