Purple, is a global disability inclusion consultancy working with organisations to improve the experiences of disabled people as customers and employees. With a strong customer proposition, we are now embarking on a phase of rapid growth. We are looking for an enthusiastic candidate to join our Purple Tuesday team on a full-time hybrid based in Chelmsford.
Main Purpose
The Head of UK Partnerships & Events will lead the strategic development and delivery of Purple Tuesday’s UK partnership and events portfolio. This pivotal role is responsible for driving income growth through high-impact partnerships, overseeing the execution of flagship events such as Purple Tuesday and the Disability Summit, and amplifying the organisation’s mission to improve the customer experience for disabled people. The postholder will manage a cross-functional team and work collaboratively across departments and international teams to ensure the successful delivery of campaigns, events, and partner engagement initiatives that reflect Purple Tuesday’s values of accessibility, inclusion, and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
Partnership Development
- Develop and execute a UK-wide partnership and sales strategy aligned with Purple Tuesday’s mission and income targets.
- Identify, engage, and secure new strategic partners across sectors (retail, finance, tourism, healthcare, etc.).
- Maintain and grow relationships with existing partners, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and impact.
- Collaborate with international teams to align UK efforts with global initiatives.
Event Leadership
- Lead the planning and delivery of flagship events including Purple Tuesday (each November) and Disability Summit (each September)
- Oversee logistics, programming, speaker engagement, and stakeholder coordination.
- Ensure events are inclusive, accessible, and aligned with Purple Tuesday’s values.
- Manage event budgets and reporting.
Campaigns and Communications
- Work with the marketing team to develop campaigns that promote partnership opportunities and event participation.
- Represent Purple Tuesday at external events, conferences, and media opportunities.
- Support the development of toolkits, webinars, and resources for partners.
Team Management
- Lead a small team of sales, account management, marketing and event professionals.
- Provide coaching, performance management, and professional development support.
Person Specification
Essential
- Eligibility to work in the UK
- Ability to commute to the Chelmsford office and attend events around the UK
- 5+ years’ experience in partnership development, stakeholder engagement, or business development.
- Strong event management experience, ideally with national-scale campaigns.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate vision into action.
- Experience leading a team and meeting income targets
- Excellent presentation skills with the ability to pick up on key client objectives and goals offering the correct solutions to fit a client need
- Negotiation experience and be comfortable discussing customer budgets
- Passionate about accessibility, inclusion, and social impact.
Desirable
- Experience of disability, either in a personal or professional capacity
This role profile is not exhaustive; it will be subject to periodic review and may be amended to meet the changing needs of the business. The post holder will be expected to participate in this process and we would aim to reach agreement to the changes.
