Role: Senior Tax Liability Underwriter
Level: Senior / 8+ Years Post Graduation
Location: Open – Various UK offices to base near
Work: Hybrid – Regular London City Client meetings
Salary: Open to Discuss

Responsibilities

• Underwrite Tax Liability and Tax Indemnity for complex transactions in the UK and Europe
• Price, structure, and negotiate coverage including Warranty and Indemnity where relevant
• Set underwriting guidelines, referral rules, and portfolio guardrails with capacity partners
• Lead risk analysis using your original training in accounting or law
• Own broker relationships and originate a visible and repeatable pipeline
• Work with claims to tighten feedback loops and refine wordings and exclusions
• Report MI on rate, limit, hit rate, and loss trends and adjust appetite in real time
• Shape the operating playbook and mentor future hires as the unit scales

Qualifications

• Senior Leader with 8+ years post graduation overall
• At least 3+ recent years underwriting within insurance in Tax Liability or Tax Indemnity or transactional risk
• Early career in audit or tax or law; ACA or ACCA or a legal qualification is strongly preferred
• Strong wordings and negotiation skills and comfort with governance and referrals
• A broker network you can activate and a clear origination plan
• A builder mindset and the drive to move from a large corporate into a create and grow platform
