Do you enjoy working collaboratively to turn national priorities into practical actions?If so, we have the role for you!We are excited to be recruiting for a Health and Impact Officer to join our Quality Team on a full-time (37.5 hours per week) fixed-term contract until August 2027. This role reports directly to the Head of Safeguarding and Compliance. It is flexible with working where is best for you, but there is an expectation that you will travel nationwide (including overnight stays) to meet the needs of Mencap.What will you do as a Health and Impact Officer?
- Lead on the design and delivery of our health improvement project, ensuring it aligns with national priorities and best practices.
- Work with colleagues across our Personal Support services, as well as external health specialists.
- Design and implement an impact assessment plan to evaluate the effectiveness of initiatives and identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and maintain a central health data repository so we have accurate baseline health information for the people we support.
- Support colleagues and the people we support to plan reasonable adjustments for health appointments, annual health checks and screening.
- Provide guidance on health support plans, health action plans and health passports.
Has a strong personal commitment to improving health outcomes for people with a learning disability. - Can see the bigger picture while delivering day-to-day actions.
- Is confident working with data and impact assessments, with the ability to identify trends and influence practice.
- Has strong communication and collaboration skills and can make complex information accessible to a range of audiences.
- Brings creativity, problem-solving skills, and excellent project management abilities.
