OverviewJoin to apply for the Health, Safety and Security Lead role at Softcat.The Property and Workplace team ensures Softcat's offices provide a high standard environment, supporting statutory compliance and delivering Facilities Management (FM), Capital Projects, Health & Safety, Risk Management, Fleet Management, and sustainability initiatives. A happy, engaged workforce drives great customer service, and maintaining safe, compliant workplaces is integral to Softcat's success. The Health, Safety Security Lead will oversee health, safety and security across 15+ UK and international offices, reporting to the Head of Property and Workplace. The role is based at various UK or Dublin offices and requires periodic travel.ResponsibilitiesOverseeing health, safety, and security compliance, training, investigations, risk management, emergency response, and global safety systems, enforcing Softcat's policies regionallyDeveloping and communicating security protocols, access control standards, technical solutions, and emergency preparedness, liaising with local authorities as neededLeading the development of a strong Health & Safety culture, collaborating on policy with Legal and HR, and ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and ISO standardsCreating and implementing project-specific health & safety strategies, conducting risk assessments (GRA, FRA, DSE, DDA), and maintaining accident management and reporting toolsManaging daily safety and security operations, audits, third-party consultants, and contract security personnel across UK and international officesCoordinating with internal teams and stakeholders, delivering training, managing insurance risk, and supporting business continuity, crisis management and compliance initiativesQualificationsA strong and effective communicator who can influence management and executivesDegree or qualifications in Health and Safety Management, NEBOSH, or IOSH Level 6 or above desirableUpdated understanding of health and safety principles with proven technical skills in occupational safety and healthProficiency in H&S software and tools would be beneficialProven experience in H&S roles within construction, engineering, facilities, or officesStrong knowledge of updated health and safety legislation, regulations, and industry standardsProven management and problem-solving skills would be advantageousWorking StyleWork in a way that supports flexibility: Hybrid working (3 days in the office, 2 days from home)Flexible hours – start and finish times can be adjustedFlexibility around school pick up and drop offsAbout SoftcatWherever you work, you’ll have freedom and autonomy to realise your potential.
