Role Overview

You will be part of the Technical Specialist Services, a team of 600 experts across the UK, India, Africa and the Middle East, representing 15 specialist disciplines.

Your work will focus on growing an integrated heritage business across areas of the built environment where a holistic consideration of heritage will be crucial to the best design outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop our integrated heritage business and take it to market.
  • Lead cross‑disciplinary teams to create productive, collaborative environments.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities and create opportunities for other Arup teams.
  • Grow the studio, lead projects and expand our client base.
  • Provide thought leadership and build market awareness of the Heritage expertise within Arup.

Qualifications

  • Proven track record of work winning and strategic business development to deliver growth.
  • Significant experience in business development and client relationship management, potentially for new services, including high value clients and projects.
  • Proven track record in bringing cross‑disciplinary teams together to create productive, collaborative environments and best‑in‑class results.
  • A passion for diversity, recognising the innovation and competitive edge that comes from a diverse, highly skilled team where equal opportunities are truly valued.
  • A focus on customer satisfaction and high‑quality service delivery, with strong interpersonal skills and responsiveness.
  • Ability to lead and inspire across diverse perspectives of deep domain expertise to achieve goals that are greater than the sum of their parts.
  • The ability to empower others to succeed, giving staff the confidence and support to thrive, develop and excel at what they do.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills with both non‑technical and technical audiences, managing stakeholders.
  • Evidence of industry recognition of your work in the form of awards, publications, speaking and press appearances.
  • Knowledge of the built environment sector.
  • Awareness of key policy and legislation impacting the Heritage sector in the UK, and preferably Middle East, Africa, India and Europe.
  • A track record of communicating successfully with governance‑bodies or project boards and stakeholders.
  • Heritage conservation accreditation and experience shaping and enhancing Heritage in the built environment.
