The Role

You will manage a varied and rewarding caseload, providing crucial advice and advocacy for housing associations, local authorities, and charitable landlords. Your work will include:

  • Defending disrepair claims and supervising legal assistants.
  • Securing and defending anti-social behaviour injunctions.
  • Prosecuting under the Environmental Protection Act.
  • Handling complex possession claims (including Equality Act and mental capacity defences).
  • Resolving residential leasehold and shared ownership disputes.
  • Providing housing management advice and delivering legislative updates.

The Team

You will join a close-knit, ten-person team in Manchester, collaborating with a 17-strong national housing litigation department. The team is known for being supportive, highly skilled, and passionate about their work.

Qualifications

  • Experience in housing law or residential leasehold litigation.
  • Confidence in advocacy and a passion for representing clients at court.
  • A collaborative, supportive approach with excellent delegation skills.
  • The ability to manage a busy caseload, meeting deadlines with ease.
  • A commitment to delivering clear, practical, and commercially sound advice.
