OverviewHousing and Litigation Lawyer role at London Borough of Lambeth.Salary: £62,495 pa (inclusive of £5,000 Market Supplement) depending on experience. Hybrid working.ResponsibilitiesCarry a varied caseload in housing and related litigation, providing cost-effective, high-quality advice and representation to the Council.Manage claims under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1985, Environmental Health Act 1990, Defective Premises Act 1972, and contractual claims from tenants and leaseholders, including breach applications.Act in contested possession proceedings including anti-social behaviour, injunctions, homelessness, and judicial reviews when required.Advise on housing and local government law, represent in court proceedings, instruct counsel, and draft legal documents and correspondence with a thorough knowledge of Civil Procedure Rules.Contribute to quality assurance and performance standards within the team, and work effectively under pressure with competing deadlines.Qualifications and ExperienceThorough up-to-date knowledge of housing and local government law.Experience in court representation and instructing counsel; strong working knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules.Substantial experience in drafting legal documents and providing specialist legal advice.What We OfferSalary: £52,925 – £62,495 per annum (depending on experience) plus £5,000 welcome bonus for legally qualified new starters, payable 50% after 6 months and 50% after 12 months in the role.Hybrid working and a range of benefits including:5 Staff Networks: Black, Asian and Multi-Ethnic; LGBTQ+; Disability; Young Professionals; Women.Generous annual leave (27 days rising to 35 with service).Local Government Pension Scheme, Employee Assistance Programme, and other well-being and development benefits.Cycle to Work, secure bike storage, discounts, learning and development opportunities, and more.How to ApplyIf you're interested in this opportunity, click on the apply button and complete an online application.
