Housing Solution Advisor - Housing Solutions
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated individual to help clients at risk of homelessness or living in unsuitable accommodation. We are seeking front line Housing Solutions Advisors to join a team that makes a difference and transforms lives.
Responsibilities
- Undertake homeless assessments and process applications to the Authority's Common Housing Register.
- Prevent homelessness by producing innovative solutions to clients remaining in the home or finding alternative accommodation.
- Manage complex and detailed casework with experience in detailed homelessness prevention casework as well as homelessness legislation, making enquiries and legal decisions in line with the statutory duties of a local authority.
- Work as part of a busy team and, where needed, manage your own caseload to Bridgend's service standards; plan and prioritise work effectively to contribute to the delivery of a high-quality housing service.
- Collaborate with partner agencies in preventing homelessness and reducing reliance on temporary accommodation; be adaptable and able to react effectively to changing circumstances.
- Protecting children, young people or adults at risk is a core responsibility of all council employees.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Experience of managing complex and detailed casework; detailed homelessness prevention casework and knowledge of homelessness legislation.
- Ability to make enquires and legal decisions in line with statutory duties of a local authority.
- Ability to work well under pressure, on your own initiative, and as part of a team; good problem-solving skills and the ability to plan and prioritise work.
- Ability to work collaboratively with partner agencies and adopt a proactive approach to preventing homelessness.
- The ability to greet customers through the medium of Welsh is a requirement for this post.
Work Arrangement
The council's Hybrid Working Policy applies to this post. This provides a framework for establishing how you will undertake working hours between your home and the office.
