HR Advisor
We are currently looking for a HR Advisor to join our team. This role covers the South region with flexibility to travel to different offices including Slough, Hemel Hempstead, Winchester, Canterbury, Crawley, and Kingston.
Role Overview
The HR Advisor is responsible for providing professional, effective, and efficient HR advice and support to managers and employees across the region. The role supports the implementation of HR initiatives, policies, processes and ways of working to promote a positive and inclusive culture. The post holder will ensure that all HR operations are carried out smoothly, aligned to Cardo Group, and in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Build key relationships with stakeholders across the business and provide HR advice and support in relation to employee relations issues, investigations, disciplinaries and grievances.
- Assist in the management of short and long‑term absence, arrange welfare meetings and occupational health advice, and look at capability to reduce long‑term sickness absence.
- Own the full employee life cycle, ensuring positive and effective end‑to‑end HR processes in collaboration with the central HR team.
- Support the induction and onboarding process for new employees.
- Handle HR reporting and systems, providing insights on key metrics and creating monthly HR reports (e.g., average sickness absence, turnover).
- Liaise with the payroll department regarding any queries.
- Support the management of employee relations cases, including investigations, hearings, and outcomes.
- Assist the wider HR team with projects, initiatives, system developments and reporting.
- Respond to employee queries and ensure compliance with HR policies.
Skills & Experience
- CIPD Level 3 or above (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a generalist HR role.
- Good knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices.
- Proficiency in HR systems and MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify trends, risks, and opportunities in HR data.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Flexible and adaptable to change in a fast‑paced HR environment.
