About the role
Bury Council is embarking on an exciting new chapter. With a reshaped HR/OD management team and a refreshed strategy for the borough, we are focused on delivering improved outcomes for our communities and creating a thriving, inclusive place for all who live and work here. We are developing our People Strategy that will set out our aspirations and shape the work of the HR/OD service for the next five years.
We are seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking HR & OD Business Partner to join our People and Inclusion Service. This is a unique opportunity to work at the heart of transformation, supporting directorates across the Council to drive performance, enable cultural change, and deliver services that make a real impact on the lives of Bury’s citizens.
What you’ll do:
Partner with senior leaders to align workforce strategies with service priorities.
Lead on organisational development initiatives that support our refreshed borough strategy.
Provide expert guidance on complex HR matters, employee relations, workforce planning, and change management.
Champion inclusion, wellbeing, and employee engagement across the organisation.
What we’re looking for:
Proven experience in strategic HR partnering within a complex organisation.
Strong influencing skills and the ability to build trusted relationships at all levels.
A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a passion for public service.
Commitment to equity, diversity, and continuous improvement.
