What You'll Do
Field based
Midlands and South - ideally located within an easy commute of Redditch
Are you an experienced HSE professional looking for an exciting step up into a role that's all about proactive improvement and tangible outcomes? Do you thrive on driving positive change and fostering a strong safety culture? Then join us, where safey comes first and we strive to ensure each and every colleague goes home safe and well at the end of every shift.
Toolstation, part of the Travis Perkins Group - an industry-leader in health and safety - is seeking an experienced, engaging and analytical HSE Improvement Specialist to join our team. While you'll be joining the Toolstation family, you'll also be part of a wider 30-strong HSE team within Travis Perkins, offering fantastic opportunities to develop your skills, knowledge and experience.
What you’ll do:
This field-based role is your chance to make a real impact by driving continuous improvement across our business. Reporting directly to the Head of HSE, you'll be at the forefront of enhancing our safety standards and reducing risk through targeted projects. This isn't about being reactive; it's about being proactive, identifying systemic trends, and implementing solutions that get to the root cause of issues
You'll be involved in exciting projects, including:
- Working collaboratively with our distribution centres to reduce risks and incident rates, and understanding performance impacts in order to drive real improvement
- Partnering with our retail stores on crucial subjects such as safe product storage, handling, and reducing manual handling risks.
- Conducting deep dives into incident data to identify systemic trends, spotting patterns and developing effective interventions.
What You'll Bring
We're likely looking for a current HSE Business Partner or Manager ready for a new challenge. You'll need to demonstrate:
- NEBOSH General Certificate, HSE Diploma or equivalent
- Full UK Driving Licence
- 24 months post-qualification experience in a medium-risk business as an HSE Manager or equivalent role.
- Proven experience in safety culture and behavioural change programmes.
- An excellent communicator, confident in positively challenging the status quo.
- Good time management skills.
- A strong understanding of the legal and technical aspects of H&S as they apply to Retail and Distribution Centres.
- Experience of working in a distribution environment would be highly beneficial, as would experience in a multi-site, fast-paced business.
You’ll find every opportunity to be yourself and to bring your personality and potential to work. You’ll find a business where you can develop a fulfilling career, wherever you want – up the ladder or across the group. You’ll also be rewarded with a competitive salary and benefits commensurate with the role, such as car/car allowance, contributory pension, BAYE and SAYE schemes, life assurance and discounts off Travis Perkins businesses and a range of other affiliate partners.
Toolstation. The story so far.
