Overview


We are seeking a HSEQ Advisor to embed health and safety legislation and best practice across the business, championing the quality of service delivery to internal and external customers using both a strategic and practical approach.


This role will require travel to sites across the UK.


Location and hours


Location: PR1 8AF (Regional Travel across the North West)


Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:00


Responsibilities



  • Ensure appropriate health, safety, environmental & quality systems are in place and being followed by management and staff; verify they remain effective and applicable to the requirements of the business.

  • Ensure policies, procedures and business activities comply with legislation and company strategic aims.

  • Mitigate risk across contracts; demonstrate a strong HSEQ background. This is a pro-active and visible role requiring excellent internal and external customer relationships, commercial, supplier management and people skills, with the ability to influence, train and support staff at all levels.

  • Travel to sites across the UK as required.


Qualifications and experience



  • NEBOSH Occupational Health & Safety certificate

  • Internal auditor qualified (in either 9001, 14001 or 45001)

  • Experience of CDM legislation and all relevant codes of practice (desirable)

  • Experience in a national HSEQ role focused on risk mitigation while delivering to an internal customer base

  • Experience conducting incident investigations and implementing remedial action

  • Experience with risk assessments, audits and report writing

  • Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to consult and negotiate

  • Highly organised, detail-focused and capable of delivering in a high-pressure environment

  • Strong team player with the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships

  • Intermediate experience of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

  • Ability to plan, audit, develop and identify implementation strategies for Compliance, HSEQ management systems and related activities

  • Ability to work autonomously

  • Ability to analyse and evaluate data and information

  • Ability to make sound business decisions

  • Valid UK Driving Licence with access to your own vehicle


Desirable



  • Lead auditor qualification

  • Environmental qualification


Note


You will work 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:00. You will be flexible to ensure service delivery at the highest level. You will have access to employee benefits and a comprehensive package including a car allowance.
