An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and experienced pensions professional to join a growing Scheme Benefits Team on a remote basis.

This position is ideally suited for individuals with a strong background in pension scheme implementation, administration, or technical consulting. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality client implementation projects within a structured project framework, while continuing to enhance your skills and expertise in pensions.

The Scheme Benefits Team forms part of a wider Implementation function, which is responsible for deploying tailored pension administration solutions for a diverse portfolio of clients. Project sizes range from large-scale strategic initiatives to smaller, bespoke implementations. The role involves close collaboration with data and configuration teams to ensure a seamless transition for new and existing pension schemes.

Comprehensive training and support will be provided to help you build proficiency in proprietary systems and further strengthen your pension scheme knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

Act as a deputy to the Implementation Manager and serve as an escalation point within the team.
Lead on complex client implementation projects, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
Analyse and interpret scheme documentation, legislation updates, and technical guidance to assess impacts on processes and project delivery.
Translate client requirements into technical and operational solutions in line with scheme rules and regulations.
Collaborate with internal teams such as Data and Configuration to ensure accurate and efficient onboarding of scheme data and automated calculations.
Troubleshoot and resolve client and project-related queries in a timely manner.
Identify and manage risks and issues, proposing effective mitigation strategies.
Provide mentorship and support to junior members of the team, including Implementation Consultants and Analysts.
Promote best practice and continuous improvement across the team and wider function.
Lead and take ownership of non-standard or ad-hoc implementation tasks or processes as required.

Skills And Experience Required

Strong technical expertise in Defined Benefit pension schemes and associated UK pensions legislation.
Proven experience working with various scheme types, including Annuities, Defined Contribution, and Career Average Revalued Earnings (CARE) schemes.
Solid experience of process-driven environments, with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
Advanced problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse scheme rules and documentation, identifying any unique or complex nuances.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with experience in data manipulation and analysis.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience building productive relationships across varying levels.
Proven ability to lead and influence in a team environment.
A meticulous approach with excellent attention to detail.
Demonstrated experience working within a project delivery environment, ideally with exposure to system implementations or pensions technology.
