Job Title: Implementation Specialist, Quality Assurance (m/w/d)

Role Responsibilities

  • Journal Care: Gather system requirements from publishers, editors, and service providers; Set up, maintain, and administer peer review systems; Conduct presentations and training sessions for internal and external stakeholders; Ensure quality of article-level activities and act as an escalation point for individual journals; Build and maintain strong relationships with Publishing, Editorial, Production, Technology & Operations staff, as well as external editors, reviewers, authors, and service providers; Maintain journal-specific records and documentation.
  • Quality Assurance: Collaborate with GPO’s Automation & Analysis team to gather reliable, quality-related insights; Proactively monitor quality across journals and investigate issues raised by monitoring processes or stakeholder feedback; Work closely with GPO service providers, other Implementation Specialists, and the Workflow Solutions and Training Programmes teams to resolve root causes of quality issues.
  • Other Responsibilities: Act as an advocate for continuous improvement, quality, and efficiency; Foster a culture of openness, transparency, and collaboration across teams and stakeholders.

Experience, Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience, Essential: Contributing to (sometimes interconnected) business projects; Working with a wide range of global stakeholders.
  • Desirable: Previous experience in a publishing and/or support role; Business analysis and data analysis.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Understanding of publishing workflows
  • Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple concurrent projects and priorities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact with stakeholders globally
  • High numeracy skills with great attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong problem-solving, logical, and analytical skills
  • Proactive mindset; able to lead projects independently and collaboratively

Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Formal project management qualification, such as PRINCE2, is desirable
