Salary: Circa £65,000 and higher depending on experience and qualifications (Grade C to D) - plus benefits.What You’ll DoAs a Site Inspector within INA's Independent Site Inspection Team you will perform independent oversight of civil engineering activities, ensuring construction works are planned and executed in line with the design, to appropriate standards, with safety as the overriding priority. You will engage with the client team, contractors, designers, external regulators and other stakeholders. Activities include site walk downs, independent assessments (technical and non-technical) and observation of key meetings. You may also contribute to oversight of other INA remit topics such as Environment, Emergency Preparedness and Security.ResponsibilitiesProvide independent oversight of civil engineering activities on the Sizewell C project.Assess conformance of construction works with design, standards and safety requirements.Engage with client teams, contractors, designers and regulators; participate in site walks, assessments and meetings.Broaden oversight by contributing to other INA remit areas where appropriate.What We’re Looking ForEssential Skills & ExperienceWe are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer who has worked on major, multi-disciplinary construction projects and in design environments. The following knowledge and experience are sought:TechnicalDegree qualification in Civil Engineering (or closely related discipline).Progressing towards or holding Chartered status with the ICE or IStructE.Strong knowledge of civil engineering design and construction processes and standards; ability to identify risks and propose alternative solutions.Ability to interpret construction information (drawings, models, bar bending schedules, specifications) and undertake site inspections to assess conformance with construction information.Ability to review construction RAMS and undertake site inspections to assess conformance with these.Ability to review design output and confirm alignment with construction information.Experience in construction management is desirable but not essential.Non-TechnicalExcellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with INA team and across Sizewell C.Ability and desire to challenge unsafe behaviours or practices appropriately.Able to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of seniority.Commitment to the highest standards of safety and quality.BenefitsAnnual Leave: 28 days per annum, increasing to 30 days after 5 years of service, plus bank holidays.Bonus: Up to 5% annual bonus.Flexible Working: Options for flexible working arrangements to suit your needs and the business.Pension Contributions: Defined Contribution Pension Scheme with up to 7.5% employee contribution / 15% employer contribution.Flexible Benefits: Additional allowance for a variety of benefits.Closing dateClosing date: 02nd October 2025
