Join Sunil Goel & Associates, CAs as an Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (IDVA) in West Cumberland, Cumbria. This role involves both face‑to‑face and virtual support to help victims of domestic abuse.

About The Role

  • Implement effective practices with victims and supporters to increase safety and reduce harm.
  • Provide a high‑quality, front‑line service to victims of domestic abuse, prioritising risk and focusing on victim/survivor aged 16+.
  • Work within the MARAC and local partnership framework, keeping safety central for all services.

You Will Need

  • Knowledge of help‑seeking barriers and support needs of victims of domestic abuse.
  • Understanding of domestic abuse impacts on victims and their children.
  • Knowledge of risk assessment, safety planning and risk management for victims and children.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and legal responsibilities.
  • Experience providing direct service delivery to victims of domestic abuse or other vulnerable groups.
  • Strong communication, negotiation and advocacy skills.
  • Strong crisis management skills and ability to handle stressful situations.
