Opus People Solutions, on behalf of Telford and Wrekin Council, has an exciting opportunity for an Independent Reviewing Officer to join their team.

Job Details:

• Position: Independent Reviewing Officer
• Duration: 3 Months
• Hours per week: 37
• Hourly rate: £38
• Location: Darby House
• Work arrangement: Hybrid (Remote/Office based)

Responsibilities:

1. Review plans for children and young people who are in need of protection, in the care of the Council, or who are Care Leavers.
2. Provide effective independent oversight of children's care.
3. Monitor the performance of the Local Authority regarding children's cases and challenge poor practice when necessary.
4. This role involves being a designated Child Protection Conference Chair & Independent Reviewing Officer responsible for delivering part of the service.
5. Support the Council's visions and priorities both internally and externally.
6. Assist the Team Manager in planning team and service objectives.
7. Identify and highlight resource issues to the Team Manager.
8. Help ensure that the team and service meet their objectives and targets within agreed timeframes.
9. Deliver standards that promote equality of opportunity.
