Indirect Category Manager at Robert Walters in Manchester City Centre. You will take ownership of all indirect procurement activities with a focus on Marketing, HR Services, IT, Consulting, and Operating Supplies.

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies across multiple indirect categories (Marketing, HR Services, IT, Consulting, Operating Supplies) to deliver value through cost savings and risk mitigation.
  • Manage end-to-end procurement processes (RFPs, supplier selection, contract negotiations) and ensure compliance with organisational standards.
  • Foster strong supplier relationships to maintain high performance and continuously seek improvements and innovations.
  • Track spend data to identify cost optimization opportunities and report findings to management.
  • Monitor procurement KPIs to drive continuous improvement within the procurement function.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure procurement strategies align with business objectives and operational requirements.
  • Support regional and global procurement initiatives by implementing projects in local markets and sharing best practices.
  • Act as a trusted advisor on strategic sourcing decisions and optimizing spend across categories.
  • Champion digital transformation within procurement by developing and implementing digital sourcing models.
  • Work with the Procurement Operations team to ensure seamless execution of sourcing strategies.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in any field.
  • Previous procurement experience, ideally with indirect categories such as Marketing, HR Services, or IT services.
  • Negotiation and contract management skills to achieve favourable outcomes.
  • Proven ability to manage supplier performance through relationships and clear communication.
  • Experience developing category strategies that deliver value through cost savings or process improvements.
  • Proficiency with procurement tools (e.g., SAP or Coupa) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities; strong data analysis skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across diverse audiences.
  • Interest in international career paths and future mobility within the organisation.
