We're looking for a motivated individual to support Swansea's childcare sufficiency work—helping us gather and analyse data that informs future developments and supports our reporting to Welsh Government. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the strategic planning of high-quality childcare provision across the city.
In this role, you will:
- Support the collection and analysis of childcare sufficiency data across Swansea.
- Help develop smart data systems and tools that generate clear, actionable insights.
- Champion secure information sharing to support evidence-based decision-making.
- Work closely with a small, friendly, and experienced team dedicated to improving outcomes for children and families.
- Provide line management for a small team responsible for delivering the Childcare Offer for Wales, offering guidance, support, and oversight to ensure high-quality service delivery.
What we\'re looking for:
- Experience working in a childcare setting or a relevant Level 3 Early Years/Childcare qualification.
- A keen interest in data and its role in shaping public services.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- A collaborative mindset and commitment to improving childcare provision.
- Join us in shaping the future of childcare in Swansea and ensuring every child has the best start in life.
What you\'ll do
- Use your expertise to support Swansea Council's statutory duties under the Childcare Act 2006.
- Collate and analyse local childcare data to identify gaps and inform strategic planning.
- Lead on information management and data sharing protocols within the Commissioning Hub.
- Contribute to the Childcare Sufficiency Assessment and refresh cycles, helping shape future provision.
What You\'ll Get
- A supportive team environment with regular supervision and mentoring.
- Flexible and hybrid working arrangements.
- Opportunities for professional development and growth.
- The chance to make a real impact in a sector that matters.
