Overview

Information Security Officer - Risk. Hybrid role based in Lancashire. The role focuses on cyber security risk management within a well-funded, growing organisation and is part of a larger cybersecurity team.

Base pay range

Responsibilities

• Act as a trusted cyber security risk advisor, ensuring the business is compliant against security policy and providing advisory support to stakeholders and management.
• Assess risks across IT, OT and physical cyber domains; review risk ratings and support coordinators in assessing risk positions.
• Build strong relationships with business, technology functions and 3rd parties to apply real-world cyber security risk management experience.
• Monitor cyber security risk and compliance on a day-to-day basis; review risks to ensure they are clear and understandable; develop metrics for tracking risk at the board level.

Qualifications

• A minimum of three years in an information security officer role.
• Experience with technology teams and awareness of information security-related laws and regulations (e.g., GDPR, NIS Regulations).
• Familiarity with cyber security frameworks and standards (e.g., NCSC CAF, NIST, ISO 2700x, CIS).
• Certifications such as CRISK, CISM, CompTIA Security+ (or equivalent).
• Experience using a centralized application risk management platform and knowledge of business applications.
• Experience interpreting vulnerability management data, attack scenarios, and policy documents (policies, procedures, standards, guidelines).
