What you'll do

As an Infrastructure Automation Engineer, you will architect innovative solutions for next-generation virtualisation infrastructure. Your day-to-day activities will involve hands-on work with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), Linux systems, Ansible automation frameworks, and proprietary configuration management tools. You will design automated workflows that enhance scalability and resilience across hybrid environments, collaborate with stakeholders to ensure solutions align with reliability and security goals, and integrate APIs for seamless interaction between on-premises resources and external platforms. You will maintain clear documentation and contribute to team knowledge-sharing. You may lead testing initiatives for new technologies while supporting legacy system upgrades and new deployments.

What you bring

  • Extensive experience automating infrastructure tasks such as installation, configuration, and management using Python within enterprise environments.
  • Hands-on expertise with automation frameworks like Ansible and practical knowledge of Infrastructure as Code methodologies.
  • Deep understanding of virtualization technologies including VMware Cloud Foundation or vSphere.
  • Solid grasp of TCP/IP networking, DNS administration, Linux operating systems, and distributed computing concepts.
  • Ability to integrate APIs to automate workflows across hybrid cloud or on-premises infrastructure stacks.
  • Familiarity with version control (e.g., Git), CI/CD pipelines, and modern software development lifecycle practices.
  • Experience conducting lab-based testing for new hardware/software components prior to production rollout in large-scale environments.
  • Knowledge of software testing methodologies applied to infrastructure automation projects is desirable.
  • Experience with additional programming languages (e.g., Go, PowerShell, Bash) is advantageous.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for effective collaboration within multidisciplinary teams.
