Infrastructure Director (Civil Engineering) in Liverpool. Lead a new Civil Engineering Infrastructure team in either Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool or Newcastle office and support the continued growth of a wide-ranging portfolio of clients in all sectors across the UK.

The role involves promoting the success of the Transport & Infrastructure Business through strategic decision-making, collaboration with key leads and directors, overseeing local operations, and ensuring long-term business growth. This includes expanding the talent pool, enhancing expertise geographically, and offering localized services in selected offices/areas to increase client engagement. The position also entails leading and delivering high-quality civil engineering infrastructure design services and guidance professionally.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and lead a new Civil Engineering Infrastructure team in the chosen office.
  • Support growth of a wide-ranging portfolio of clients across the UK.
  • Promote the success of the Transport & Infrastructure Business through strategic decision-making and collaboration with key leads.
  • Oversee local operations and ensure long-term business growth.
  • Expand the talent pool, enhance geographic expertise, and offer localized services to increase client engagement.
  • Lead and deliver high-quality civil engineering infrastructure design services for planning, tender and construction purposes.

Qualifications

  • Chartered Engineer status with a relevant professional body, and 12–15 years’ post-graduate experience.
  • Proven and demonstrable work-winning ability in a consultancy/private sector development environment.
  • Commercially astute, identifying new opportunities and following up to secure new business.
  • Proven ability contributing towards business development strategies (growth plans, process improvement).
  • Thorough knowledge of delivering civil engineering infrastructure for private and adoptable works for planning, tender and construction.
  • Excellent working knowledge of the legal, planning, technical consent, and adoption processes and contract procedures for civils infrastructure in new developments and regeneration projects.
  • Personable and a strong team player with a people-oriented approach.
  • Effective organisational and communication skills with a collaborative approach and willingness to take responsibility.
  • Proactive, strategic and analytical in approach to supporting client requirements.
  • Self-motivated, open-minded and enthusiastic with a can-do attitude.
  • Able to work under pressure, manage own workload effectively and support others when necessary.
