Infrastructure Engineer - Server - Storage - Hull / Hybrid
Join Oscar Associates (UK) Limited as an Infrastructure Engineer to support, maintain, and improve our enterprise server and storage foundations. This role is ideal for a hands-on technical expert passionate about uptime, resilience, and efficient infrastructure, with networking skills considered a plus.
Responsibilities
- Deploy, manage, and support Server environments (on-premise, virtualised, or cloud-hosted).
- Administer and optimise storage solutions, including SAN, NAS, and backup systems.
- Perform routine system maintenance, monitoring, patching, and troubleshooting of server and storage platforms.
- Contribute to resilience planning, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes.
- Maintain accurate documentation for assets, procedures, and configurations.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to support infrastructure projects and incident response.
- (Desirable) Assist with basic network administration, including switches, firewalls, and connectivity as needed.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience with Windows Server and/or Linux administration.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise storage technologies (SAN/NAS/backup).
- Experience with virtualisation platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or similar).
- Familiarity with monitoring and management tools for server and storage environments.
- Solid problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Adaptable, detail-oriented, and able to work both independently and in a team.
Desirable Skills
- Understanding of networking concepts (LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, VLANs, firewalls).
- Experience supporting network devices (e.g., switches, routers, wireless APs).
- Scripting or automation experience (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python).
