Town Planner - Environmental & Infrastructure Projects

Location: Chester, hybrid working available

We are working with a leading employee-owned consultancy at the forefront of planning, environmental, and landscape design, to recruit a Town Planner for their growing team based near Chester.

This is an exceptional opportunity to join a multidisciplinary firm known for delivering nationally significant projects in sectors such as renewable energy, carbon capture, energy from waste, urban regeneration, and electric vehicle infrastructure.

The Opportunity

As a Town Planner, you'll join a passionate, collaborative team that values creative thinking and sustainable design. You'll contribute to a diverse portfolio of planning projects - from supporting major energy schemes to shaping the built environment in line with future-focused values.

You'll be responsible for:

Preparing and submitting planning applications

*

Conducting planning appraisals and policy reviews

*

Supporting the drafting of Environmental Statements and Local Plan representations

*

Liaising with local authorities, consultants, clients, and stakeholders

*

Supporting senior staff on complex and large-scale development proposals

*

Helping drive forward projects from concept through to approval

This role provides the opportunity to work closely with senior consultants and directors, with a clear path to progression.

About You

We're looking for someone with:

*

A degree in Town Planning or a related discipline (RTPI accredited preferred)

*

At least 2 years of experience in a planning role (private or public sector)

*

A good understanding of UK planning regulations and procedures

*

Strong analytical, report writing, and communication skills

*

A proactive approach and collaborative mindset

*

Interest in working on environmentally focused and infrastructure-led projects

Chartered or working towards RTPI membership is preferred but not essential - you'll receive full support for professional development.
