Your role and responsibilities
The Network Architect will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the network architecture for IBM Consulting's Client . This role involves creating custom-designed connectivity solutions tailored to the unique requirements of IBM and its clients, ensuring fast, resilient, secure, and cost-effective client connectivity.
Job responsibilities include:
- Design and implement network solutions
- Ensure fast, resilient, secured, and cost-effective client connectivity with built-in features of automation, network virtualization, and real-time threat monitoring.
- Provide custom-designed connectivity solutions to cater to the distinct needs of both IBM and the client.
- Manage the lifecycle of network solutions, including onboarding, steady-state management, and deboarding.
- Participating in both client and internal stakeholder meetings to gather information regarding client requirements as part of an opportunity pursuit plan

Required technical and professional expertise
- Expertise in routing, switching, load balancing, VPN, Data Center LAN, Data Center WAN, DNS and network segmentation
- Familiarity with Network Automation and monitoring tooling
- In-depth understanding of network security principles
- Proven experience in network architecture and design, preferably in a consulting environment.
- Ability to provide custom-designed network solutions tailored to client needs.
- Proven track record in network architecture / engineering and network delivery on-prem and integration with Cloud solutions in a complex large scale programme
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with the Team and client representatives.
- Experience in supplier management and contract negotiations
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, team leadership and communications skills
