About the role
Steer is looking for an experienced, motivated, self-starting, problem-solver and collaborative professional to fill our Infrastructure Transactions Associate/Associate Director/Director position. This role is in the Infrastructure and Asset Advisory team and supports our world-leading transactions advisory offer, contributing to Steer’s ongoing success in the United Kingdom and beyond.
This person will be an important member of our senior team, responsible for sourcing, winning, leading and delivering commissions from the international community of investors, lenders, grantors, operating companies and project developers conducting transactions in the transport sector. The Infrastructure and Asset Advisory unit brings together international experts from across industries to deliver innovative solutions.
The Infrastructure Transactions Associate/Associate Director/Director will:
Build a vibrant pipeline of work through active management of client relationships
Sell services from across Steer and leverage our reputation as a specialist in the field
Support Steer's Infrastructure Transactions practice via client engagement and proposal development
Lead projects as a Project Director, ensuring best practice techniques and full integration with Steer project teams
Diversify Steer's offer to drive growth in line with company strategy
Mentor and collaborate across the company to lead by example
The role involves working across projects in Demand and Revenue, Commercial Due Diligence, and Technical Due Diligence and providing wider support to Steer’s projects and clients.

About the candidate

Presence and reputation in the infrastructure sector with extensive client, partner and stakeholder networks
Proven ability to originate opportunities, win work, and deliver as Project Director in Commercial Due Diligence and Technical Due Diligence, supporting transactions in at least two sectors (Ports/Maritime, European Rail/Rolling Stock, Urban Transit, Bus). Non-transport sectors such as Energy, Data, and Social are a bonus but not essential
Ability to generate £500K (Associate), £750K (Associate Director), or £1M (Director) incremental revenue through own leads
The ability to work autonomously yet collaboratively with colleagues and clients
The preferred candidate will possess some or all of the following attributes:
10+ years in Infrastructure Transactions Advisory
Expert knowledge of Demand & Revenue, Commercial Due Diligence, and/or Technical Due Diligence
Ability to identify trends and develop change strategies
Strong analytical and communications skills
Project management experience with large consulting projects
Strong Excel skills; ability to develop and coach staff
Proven ability to generate new clients and leads for large-scale project work
Proven delivery of timely, profitable, high-quality projects
Ability to build effective relationships with clients and potential clients
Strategic thinking and prioritization of business development activities
