Overview

A regional Police force is looking for an employment lawyer to work in their in-house legal department at their Chelmsford HQ. Agile/hybrid working will be on offer for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver expert, timely, and strategic legal advice on employment law matters within the policing context.
  • Support the force in managing complex people issues, ensuring legal compliance, and reducing litigation risk.
  • Enhance internal capability through training, policy development, and continuous professional development.

Qualifications

  • Qualified as a Solicitor, Barrister, or Chartered Legal Executive, with a valid practising certificate.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience handling employment tribunal cases, ideally within a Respondent or predominantly Respondent practice.

  • Role is full-time and permanent.
  • Salary is 50k to 55k depending on experience.
