We are seeking an In-house Lawyer based in Birmingham to support a large technical authorisation team in a national regulatory body. You will advise on risk, regulatory compliance, and authorisation matters across complex cases.

Description

The In-house Lawyer will be:

  • Advising on authorisation processes, regulatory risk, compliance standards and technical regulatory matters.
  • Reviewing applications, policies and guidance to ensure regulatory and legal conformity.
  • Working with internal stakeholders to assess risk and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Monitoring changes in law and regulation and ensuring they are reflected in organisational practices.
  • Supporting enforcement or corrective action work when authorisation standards are breached.

Profile

The successful In-house Lawyer will be:

  • A qualified Solicitor, Barrister or CILEX Lawyer with experience of working in private practice, or in house
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Excellent understanding of regulatory and operational risk
  • A track record of managing, delivering solutions, and taking responsibility for the successful resolution of complex issues
  • Resilience with the ability to adapt and work in a constantly changing innovative environment
  • A proactive problem solver and judgement maker
  • The ability to use high level emotional intelligence to build relationships, coach and mentor others to bring out the best in them.

Job Offer

Salary of £43,472 plus benefits including excellent pension scheme, income protection, life assurance, increasing annual leave entitlement, hybrid working from Birmingham office.
