Innovation Reliefs Manager - Software Specialist | RSM UK
Location: London (Farringdon Street), United Kingdom

This role is part of the National Innovations Reliefs Team in London, working with a range of companies from start-ups to multinationals to assist them in preparing claims for Research & Development tax relief. You will interact with IT specialists across businesses at the forefront of technology, within a global professional services firm.

Responsibilities

• Developing claim methodologies and manage the preparation of R&D tax relief claims for submission to HMRC.
• Leading interviews with clients’ technical and finance teams to advise on the R&D tax relief and to assist with identification of qualifying R&D activities and expenditure.
• Writing technical descriptions of the client’s projects to include in the reports.
• Identifying, supporting and progressing business development opportunities, pitching for work with both new and existing clients.
• Leading as a point of contact on specific R&D software projects.
• Utilising existing computer science or developer skills to assist junior team members with their development.

What we are looking for

• In-depth knowledge of computer science and software development from prior experience in the software/IT industry.
• Good level of tax technical knowledge of the UK’s R&D tax incentives.
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience in preparing and submitting R&D tax relief claims in the sector.
• Clear and concise writing style.
• Attention to detail.
• Experience in responding to HMRC enquiries.
