Oxford Nanopore Technologies: Our goal is to bring the widest benefits to society through enabling the analysis of anything, by anyone, anywhere. The company has developed a new generation of nanopore-based sensing technology for faster, information rich, accessible and affordable molecular analysis.
The first application is DNA/RNA sequencing, and the technology is in development for the analysis of other types of molecules including proteins. The technology is used to understand and characterise the biology of humans and diseases such as cancer, plants, animals, bacteria, viruses, and whole environments.

Responsibilities
- Foresee important industry trends and get ready for them by crafting, developing and implementing a distinct vision.
- Focus on the future and maintain the flexibility to inspire change in both people and processes.
- Effectively communicate the agreed and shared sales vision to your teams, making it both believable and achievable.
- Engage with the management team and team members regularly.
- Treat staff as individuals, offering close attention to those who need it and ample space to those who deserve it.
- Lead the team in using company processes, tools, and resources optimally to contribute to overall sales outcomes.
- Develop your team using key processes, including mentoring, to ensure outstanding opportunities, a great talent pipeline, and a healthy sales organization.
- Set clear, stretch but achievable goals for your sales teams that will exceed the stated business objectives.
- Involve people and teams in finding new ways to achieve agreed goals.
- Encourage and reward cooperation within and between teams.
- Encourage others to take qualified risks when necessary.
- Ensure that sales objectives are aligned with the business strategy and reconfigure if vital.
What We\'re Looking For
- A PhD or MSc, or equivalent experience within genomics, genetics, or a related field.
- Proven experience in inside sales leadership, particularly within the genetics market.
- Outstanding communication and people skills.
- Experience defining and implementing sales strategies.
- Capacity to predict and get ready for market trends.
- Strong critical thinking and vision-setting abilities.
- Flexibility and adaptability to change.
- Experience in developing high-performing teams.
- Dedication to achieving ambitious business objectives.
- Happy to come to our site in Oxford at least 3 days per week.
