My client, a leading regional legal practice, is looking to recruit an Insolvency & Restructuring Partner to lead their practice. In this role, you will actively drive growth across the firm through effective leadership that energizes and motivates individuals to deliver excellent client service, using efficient regulatory practices. The team provides expert advice to businesses, insolvency practitioners, banks, creditors, shareholders, investors, employees, and individuals on a wide range of contentious and non-contentious business recovery, turnaround, and insolvency matters.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with the team to advise on complex restructuring and insolvency issues.
  2. Uphold high standards of service and accuracy across the department.
  3. Support the development and delivery of a business plan for the team, identifying actions to drive profitable growth.
  4. Ensure compliance with firm and regulatory standards.
  5. Secure profitable new clients through networking and cross-selling opportunities, increasing the firm’s profile.
  6. Create and deliver a pipeline to ensure a continual flow of profitable work for team members.
  7. Raise the firm’s profile across the region and in the industry.
  8. Drive a culture of cross-selling and support business development activities.
  9. Ensure all matters for self and team comply with internal policies and procedures to minimize breaches, claims, and client dissatisfaction.
  10. Ensure the team complies with SRA standards to safeguard clients and support the firm’s practice management standards and accreditations.
  11. Provide clients with accurate, up-to-date legal advice tailored to their circumstances, ensuring value for money.
  12. Maintain the integrity of data in key platforms such as Lawsoft, Visualfiles, Worksite, and InterAction by ensuring timely updates.
  13. Actively drive key projects, ensuring targeted deliverables and benefits are achieved.
  14. Support recruitment and contribute to motivating colleagues, ensuring engagement with the firm’s objectives.
  15. Set clear objectives for direct reports, actively manage performance, and contribute to annual salary reviews.
  16. Utilize tools and opportunities (e.g., 1:1s, PDR) to maximize team strengths and skills.
  17. Provide coaching and training to maximize talent development.
  18. Ensure new instructions are appropriately scoped and priced to achieve target gross margins.
  19. Ensure invoices are raised upon matter completion, with interim billing where possible. Invoice disbursements and expenses as incurred.
