About the Role
We have an opportunity for the right candidate to join our Steelwork Inspection department to aid with the behind the scenes coordination of our different teams. The Steelwork inspection team undertake a broad range of work including inspection of structural steelwork, weld inspection and approval, coating inspection as well as inspection on precast concrete. The projects vary from small, single day inspections to involved investigations lasting several months. This role is to help with coordinating the work in the department, working closely with the department’s manager and the project coordinator.
Responsibilities
- Review customer enquiries and interact with clients to understand their requirements.
- Provide detailed quotations for work laying out approximate timescales.
- Plan jobs for the inspection team and arrange necessary logistics to ensure all necessary equipment and transportation is available.
- Draft technical reports based on findings of site teams for sending to customers.
- Visit client sites to review work scope.
- Ensure the safety of your colleagues by collating the necessary information and preparing RAMS.
- Ensuring clear communication with inspectors and other departments to progress jobs.
It will be a mainly office-based role with the potential for some remote working. Our portfolio extends to a wide range of sites and jobs and you’ll be excellently placed to develop your knowledge and understanding of the industry. Qualifications
- Background in steelwork, metallurgy, weld inspection or coatings AND/OR degree in a technical subject (e.g. Engineering, materials etc.)

- Able to quickly acquire new skills
- Ability to draft/review technical reports
- Good verbal and written communication
