Overview

The Insurance Advisor will be responsible for acting as an interface for the Insurance team, responding to a wide range of insurance queries from internal and external stakeholders. The role supports the Claims Manager in managing the insured claims process and individual claims, triages and allocates insured claims to the appropriate claims handling provider / insurer, and assists with the instruction and collation of supporting information. The role also supports the claims handling processes by sourcing and providing information to and from internal and external stakeholders and external claims handlers, maintains cradle to grave ownership of adhoc queries across a wide range of insurances, and raises payments for services to insurance suppliers including brokers and claims handling providers.

Responsibilities

  • Act as an interface for the Insurance team, responding to insurance queries from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support the Claims Manager in managing the insured claims process and individual claims.
  • Triaging and allocation of insured claims to the appropriate claims handling provider / insurer, including the instruction and collation of supporting information.
  • Support claims handling processes by sourcing and providing information to and from internal and external stakeholders and external claims handlers.
  • Provide cradle to grave ownership of adhoc queries across a wide range of insurances.
  • Raise payments for services to insurance suppliers including brokers and claims handling providers.
  • Support programme of claims review meetings by coordinating diaries, meetings, minutes, and actions.
  • Facilitate and attend calls and interviews with colleagues in their capacity as witnesses when necessary.
  • Work with internal stakeholders including in-house Legal and Customer Excellence to agree ownership of claims and complaints.
  • Support the Claims Manager to advise customer service colleagues around handling of complaints and issues, factoring in insurance liability.
  • Support the annual insurance renewal programme by gathering key data and raising premium payments, liaising with broker accordingly.
  • Support departmental procedures and guidelines; ensure routine tasks/procedures are documented and revised as needed, maintaining continual improvement practices.
  • Own and maintain Insurance site and folders, including the Insurance intranet site providing key information to internal stakeholders.
  • Support tender processes for new relationships and services related to insurance and insurance support providers.
  • Operate with integrity and sensitivity, balancing offsetting liability for easyJet with fair treatment of customers and employees.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • You will gain exposure to insurance partners including insurers, brokers and legal representatives as well as a broad spread of internal stakeholders.
  • The role requires a motivated and organised communicator with an interest in Insurance, Claims, and Risk Management. Previous insurance experience or qualifications are beneficial but not essential.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) is required.
  • Ownership and delivery mindset with the ability to focus on delivering results, working to targets, reviewing progress, and adapting plans accordingly.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, negotiation, written and presenting skills; able to work as part of a team and independently.
  • Strong multi-tasking ability and experience balancing priorities to meet deadlines; good organisational skills and a structured approach.
  • Interest in Insurance/Risk Management and developing as an insurance professional; experience in Insurance, Claims and Risk Management is beneficial but not essential.
  • Innovative mindset; willing to suggest and consider alternate approaches that deliver value to the business.

Location & Hours

This full-time role will be based in Luton and will be 40 hours per week. We work on a hybrid basis with 60% of your working week on-site. Occasional travel may be required.
