The Financial Ombudsman Service has been resolving customer complaints since 2001. Our service is free for consumers to use and over 1 million people contact us every year. The last few years have seen the Financial Ombudsman Service embark on an organisation-wide transformation journey.

With the customer at the heart of everything we do, we have already delivered significant improvements in the service we offer and 2025 will see us continue with our ambitious transformation agenda.

Last year we welcomed our new CTO and this year will see him launch the new IT strategy for the department. With the move to cloud computing in 2023 and the ever-changing technology landscape, it is a very exciting time to be joining the Technology team here at the Financial Ombudsman Service.

The Intelligent Automation team at the Financial Ombudsman Service, is developing and delivering AI and Gen AI based optimizations that provide benefits to the business. The team designs and develops Azure applications and data processing pipelines for various AI projects, as well as working on Gen AI development projects. The AI tech stack we use include: Copilot Studio, D365, M365 Copilot, Agentic workflow, ML Ops, Azure AI services.

Key responsibilities

Working collaboratively with senior developers to assess the potential impact of a range of different solutions.

Identifying opportunities for Continuous Improvement and optimizations of existing solutions

Taking personal responsibility for delivering on your objectives in line with our values

Creation of high level and low-level specification for development work

To be considered for this role, you’ll need to show us that you’ve got the skills and capabilities. You’ll have to meet the following minimum criteria:

At least 2 to 3 years of experience in developing and deploying large scale data transformation/processing pipelines in Azure.

Logic Apps

Working in an agile development environment with the ability to communicate technical concepts and analytical outputs to a diverse set of stakeholders.

Being able to provide estimates for business requirements and break it down to tasks.

Have in depth knowledge of various Azure services

Experience in Power Platform

Python or other programming language experience
