Managing Consultant - Qualified Interim Finance

Location: Peterborough (Hybrid working available)

About the Role

We’re working with a leading professional services firm who are seeking an experienced Interim Group Financial Accountant to join their finance team on a short-term contract.

This is a hands‑on role requiring strong technical accounting skills, recent LLP experience, and solid working knowledge of Corporation Tax, Income Tax and VAT. You’ll play a key part in ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and smooth delivery of audit and reporting deadlines.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Prepare statutory consolidated accounts in line with UK GAAP and current legislation.
• Act as the main contact for external auditors, ensuring audits are delivered on time and within budget.
• Oversee balance sheet accuracy, including reconciliations, assets under construction, VAT, and related reporting.
• Support cashflow forecasting, budgeting, and financial system improvements.
• Assist with corporation tax computations and VAT returns, liaising with external advisers where needed.
• Review and enhance financial control processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.

What We’re Looking For

• Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA) or QBE with up‑to‑date technical accounting knowledge.
• Recent LLP experience is essential.
• Confident in corporation tax, income tax and VAT compliance and reporting.
• Strong understanding of UK GAAP and audit standards.
• Advanced Excel and solid MS Office skills.
• Excellent attention to detail, problem‑solving ability, and communication skills.
• Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with wider teams.
