An exciting opportunity to work as an integral member of the Corporate Governance Team. The post holder will be accountable to the Director of Corporate Governance with dotted reporting lines to the Deputy Company Secretary. The post holder will have responsibility for providing leading the implementation of the risk management framework and supporting the development of a risk aware culture at all levels in the organisation, to ensure the delivery of high quality and safe services.
The post holder will support directorates and divisions to deliver effective risk management and reporting processes via the Trust's risk management system. They will coordinate the Trust's risk processes ensuring these are escalated to the appropriate Groups and Committees and levels of internal / external oversight. Driving risk-based improvements across the organisation's five strategic ambitions.
By fostering strong relationships with internal and external audit teams, the post holder will identify best practice approaches to risk management and leverage external benchmarking activities to mature the Trust’s approach to risk management and strengthen the internal control environment.
The post holder provides overall management for policy development and assurance across the Trust, ensuring expert Trust-wide support, facilitation and monitoring of progress of the two main role functions above. This includes development of processes to support improvements in quality and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Support the development of a robust Board Assurance Framework and Corporate Risk Register alongside the Deputy Company Secretary.
- Work with the Deputy Company Secretary and Risk Owners/ Leads across the Trust to develop and monitor key performance indicators for Risk Management, and implement robust evaluation and assurance processes.
- Lead the development and monitoring of the Trust-wide policy assurance process, including the Policy on Policies, ensuring policy authors follow guidelines for policy creation, review, statutory compliance, formatting, and equality impact assessments.
- Challenge senior officers on policies where needed and oversee policy review, ratification, and uploading to the intranet.
- Ensure policies are developed or reviewed with appropriate stakeholder engagement.
- Collaborate with the Director of Corporate Governance as a key member of the Policy Assurance Group, assigning policies for review and communicating issues to policy authors as required.
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience in Risk Management and governance; strong organisational and communication skills; attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, lead and work effectively within a team with staff at all levels across the Organisation.

Location and Working Arrangements
You will join a dedicated and dynamic team based in Belsize Park (Hampstead) in north-west London. The hybrid working model allows for flexibility, with a minimum of 2 days per week in the office, particularly for Board meetings. We are committed to supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds.
