Location and duration
Location: Watford - Hybrid
Duration: 6 month FTC
Key Responsibilities
- Lead month-end and period-end processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting in line with IFRS
- Oversee the review and reconciliation of key balance sheet accounts, maintaining SOX compliance
- Ensure robust accounting for tangible and intangible assets, including impairment reviews
- Collaborate cross-functionally to align financial reporting with legal, tax, and compliance requirements
- Support statutory and group reporting, including preparation of IFRS-compliant financial statements
- Play a key role in external audits, working closely with auditors and internal teams
- Maintain and review accounting policies to ensure compliance with evolving standards
- Contribute to the implementation of SOX controls across the Accounting and Reporting function
- Coach and mentor junior team members to support skills development and knowledge sharing
About You
- We’re seeking someone with a strong technical background, an eye for detail, and a proactive mindset who thrives in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
- ACA, ACCA (or equivalent) qualification with minimum 2 years PQE, including at least 1 year in industry
- Solid experience in statutory reporting, month-end close, and balance sheet control
- Strong working knowledge of IFRS and an ability to interpret new accounting standards
- Demonstrated experience in process improvement and financial systems (ideally SAP)
- Proven ability to analyse and present complex financial data clearly
- Confidence in managing external audits and liaising with cross-functional stakeholders
- Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with the wider Microsoft Office suite
- Experience in asset accounting and impairment assessments
