The SEN / SEND Tutor role
- Provide Maths, English, or Science tuition to young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD/SLD, or other Additional Educational Needs referred to Targeted Provision
- Assist learners referred by local authorities and schools, supporting their educational and social-emotional journey
- Deliver flexible, holistic, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring
Tutor tasks and responsibilities
- Plan each tutoring/mentoring session
- Provide holistic and engaging sessions that meet individual needs and support educational and social-emotional progress
- Complete lesson reports and provide progress feedback
Tutor requirements
- Professional Teaching Qualifications (QTS / QTLS)
- Minimum 2 years teaching experience
- Experience working with SEND, SEMH, MLD/SLD and other Additional Educational Needs
- Experience and understanding of safeguarding processes
- Enhanced DBS (assistance to obtain at cost if needed)
- Two professional references
- UK residency and right to work (including remote/online assignments)
- Ability to promote health, safety and wellbeing of children and young people and follow safeguarding policies
Employment Status
- Engagements as a Worker for short-term opportunities; contract for service and PAYE payment
- No guaranteed workload or expenses coverage
- Insurance covers work done for us
- Not a self-employed tutoring/teaching position
