Inventory Planner

Fresh Direct are currently recruiting an Inventory Planner to join our team in Bicester on a 12-month fixed term contract. This role offers hybrid working with 1 day working from home, including occasional bank holidays, and requires covering a Saturday/Sunday on a rota basis (usually 1 in 4). Time in lieu is provided for working bank holidays. The role pays £29,931 per annum.

The Inventory Planner will be responsible for planning and managing stock levels for multi-temp products across various categories and locations. The team reviews product ranges daily to ensure sufficient stock for customer demand, balanced with maximum stock holding guidelines, and places orders with suppliers globally. The team also monitors waste figures to meet KPIs, balancing company spending on availability and waste to ensure profitability.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure correct product/stock quantities are available at the time of pick for all Inspiration/Innovation depot customers, minimizing waste.
  2. Liaise regularly with account managers regarding menu changes and customer requirements.
  3. Assist the Supply Chain Manager in forecasting volume requirements through coordination with account managers, customers, and departments.
  4. Help oversee the management of the booking ladder to ensure proper system use by suppliers.
  5. Keep the business informed of volume fluctuations affecting profitability.
  6. Implement robust recovery processes for rejections that meet supply chain expectations at a cost-effective price.
  7. Work collaboratively within a team environment for overall business success.
  8. Update line managers and the board on opportunities or threats impacting the business through meetings.
  9. Provide intelligence, data, and information to support decision-making across departments.
  10. Ensure compliance with legislation (H&S, Hygiene, BRC, etc.) and report violations.
  11. Develop team members to reach their full potential and prepare them for future roles.
  12. Maintain knowledge of Fresh Direct policies and regulations.
  13. Participate in projects or activities as directed by management.
