Overview

Two graduates are sought to support the delivery of investment content, accounting and reporting for the Canopius Group. This is an excellent entry level role for individuals keen to get an introduction to a career in the financial services industry. While this is a full time role, it is envisaged that the positions will initially consist of two 12 month rotations.

One rotation will be in the Investment team and its management of the Canopius investment portfolio. This is a front-office investment role and will overlap with the management of the outsourced investment infrastructure, including the development of an appropriate investment risk appetite, investment strategy and asset allocation, the efficient combination of outsourced investment managers and the development of tactical positioning, including using derivative based futures and option strategies. The other rotation will focus on middle and back-office work within Group Finance, supporting the Investment Management team and senior management. It will include elements of investment accounting, timely production of high-quality management reporting, and contributing to the Group’s statutory and regulatory reporting requirements. This rotation provides opportunity to broaden technical skills and knowledge and to build a professional network by working with other finance teams in London, Singapore, Chicago and Bermuda as well as outsourced providers in the US, Scotland and India.

The role requires a desire to develop investment knowledge, accounting practice, good quantitative modelling skills, operational competence and experience of working to tight deadlines. Once an area of specialism is identified, financial and study support in achieving professional qualifications will be provided.
