Overview

Investment Stewardship Operations Analyst, Data, Operations and Controls. Supports day-to-day investment stewardship operations to enable Vanguard’s investment stewardship efforts in proxy voting and engagement. Vanguard’s Investment Stewardship program acts as a voice for investors to promote strong corporate governance focused on long-term investment returns at the companies in which our funds invest. The program engages with executive leadership teams and boards of directors of the companies in which the Vanguard-advised funds invest, and votes at shareholder meetings to prioritize investors’ interests.

This role supports the operational, risk, and control environments of Vanguard’s Investment Stewardship efforts and is based in Malvern, PA, USA or London, UK.

Responsibilities

• Supports day-to-day proxy voting operations and technology platforms to facilitate voting volumes and ensure compliance with internal and external deadlines.
• Monitors technology and process solutions to advance Vanguard’s corporate governance activities; troubleshoots issues and maintains stability throughout the proxy voting process; identifies opportunities for improvement and recommends changes.
• Drafts documentation for internal and external reporting on investment stewardship activities, including fund holdings, proxy voting, and engagement; tracks volumes of proxy votes, company meetings, and related activities.
• Maintains investment stewardship dashboards and creates reports to provide visibility into operational effectiveness; monitors daily control reporting to ensure policy compliance.
• Assists in integrating new funds and securities into Vanguard’s governance operations and technology platforms.
• Supports and participates in communications with internal and external stakeholders and business partners to ensure timely issue resolution.
• Collaborates with experienced team members on Vanguard’s Investment Stewardship operations and technology platforms.
• Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

What it takes

• Financial services operations-related work experience.
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Experience in proxy voting, investment operations, audit, risk or compliance is preferred.
• Experience in managing multiple stakeholders with competing needs.
• Strong problem-solving approach and ability to develop solutions to complex issues.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively to achieve the best results.
