Overview

This role is an integral part of the Legal & Compliance function, ensuring controls are robust and effective, promoting positive communication on all such aspects across the workforce, and signposting individuals who require specialist advice as and when required. The role requires familiarity with relevant laws and regulations, ensuring that all matters are conducted in an ethical manner.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the entire cycle of the Anti-Bribery & Corruption (ABC) Programme within MBDA UK, providing assistance to the UK Compliance Management Team on all matters relating to the policies and procedures that form the company's Anti-Bribery Management System
  • Act as an advocate for the ABC programme, attending Group meetings and forums as part of the MBDA UK Team. Recommend, develop and implement changes in policy, procedures and control measures in conjunction with UK and Group colleagues, in particular HR, Procurement and Finance
  • Build and maintain effective relationships across the business, promoting the development of a culture of integrity within MBDA UK so that the ethical principles, compliance rules and values of MBDA prosper
  • Assist the Deputy National Compliance Officer in the planning and implementation of the Compliance Training Path in MBDA UK, working with colleagues in Learning & Development to ensure all relevant training courses are scheduled
  • Maintain records and reporting associated with the management of Business Advisers, ensuring data is up-to-date and reportable for senior stakeholders
  • Actively participate in the management of third-party suppliers, attending governance meetings
  • Support cross-functional engagement, planning and facilitating regular meetings, preparing data that is fit for purpose to undertake due diligence checks
  • Manage queries relating to Donations & Sponsorship, Gifts & Hospitality and Conflicts of Interest
  • In the event of an internal or external audit, support the Deputy National Compliance Officer and/or National Compliance Officer in the preparation and response to any request for information
  • Maintain knowledge, skills and expertise relating to Business Ethics & Compliance by keeping up to date with legal and regulatory changes (including ECCTA), and corruption case history

Qualifications & Skills

  • Ability to build strong and productive working relationships across the UK and Group teams
  • Experience of working in a similar sector is desirable
  • Knowledge and experience of tools such as EProc/Ivalua, MS Excel and ability to utilise online tools associated with internal procedures
  • Willingness to maintain knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation and associated legal cases

  • Salary: Circa £45,000 depending on experience
  • Dynamic (hybrid) working: 2-3 days per week on-site
